Digital Photo Restoration
This image began as a 35mm color slide. Taken about 1973 at the home of Sofia Loren and Carlo Ponti in Amalfi, Italy. The slide was improperly cleaned and damaged in the process. After creating a high resolution digital scan, the image was painstakingly restored. Use the center slider to see before and after comparisons.
The man in the photo is likely one of Sophia’s two younger paternal half-brothers, Giuliano and Giuseppe.
